Detached Garage Fire Closes Highway 431

Firefighters responded Friday to a structure fire on Highway 431, causing temporary traffic disruptions in the area.

COLUMBIA — Maury County Fire Department units were dispatched to Highway 431 near Flat Creek Road on Friday, May 1, at 12:51 p.m. for a detached garage fire.

Emergency responders brought the fire under control. Highway 431 traffic was impacted during firefighting and supply operations, with one lane blocked by fire apparatus. Motorists were encouraged to use alternate routes. The roadway reopened once operations concluded.
