COLUMBIA — Culleoka Unit School sent off its Class of 2026 this week with a graduation ceremony that drew family, friends, school staff, and community members to mark an important milestone.

According to Maury County Public Schools, the event celebrated the accomplishments and bright futures of Culleoka's graduating class, students who grew up in one of Maury County's most rural and tightly-knit school communities.

Culleoka has deep roots in Maury County's history—a place where families often span generations and school ties run through the fabric of community life. Graduation from Culleoka is not just an individual achievement; it's a communal moment where neighbors turn out to witness young people they've watched grow leave for college, military service, or careers beyond the county line.

These ceremonies matter. In small schools especially, graduation represents the culmination of relationships—teachers who knew students from kindergarten, classmates who shared every year together, a community that invested in their success. For Culleoka's Class of 2026, the evening was affirmation that their work mattered and that home would always be home, no matter where their futures take them.
