COLUMBIA — A National Police Week event will be held Tuesday, May 12th, at seven o'clock at Pleasant Heights Baptist Church, giving the community an opportunity to honor law enforcement officers who serve Maury County and the nation.

National Police Week, observed from May tenth through sixteenth, recognizes the men and women in uniform who put themselves in harm's way each day to protect their communities. In Maury County, that includes the sheriff's office, city police departments, highway patrol, and other agencies whose officers respond to emergencies, investigate crimes, and maintain the public safety that allows the rest of us to live with confidence.

Community support for law enforcement matters. Officers and their families notice when citizens acknowledge their service, understand the difficulty of the work, and stand with them during difficult times. Events like this one build that bridge between those who serve and those they protect.

Residents of Maury County are invited to attend Tuesday's event to show gratitude for the dedication and sacrifice of local law enforcement.
